Description
From a passion for researching the flavors of the land, this small and valuable production was born. Obtained from the pure vinification of grapes from the Aleatico grape variety planted on our Amelia estate since 1970. Deep red in color with purplish highlights, pleasantly sweet in flavor and with a characteristic aroma of ripe red fruits, it is an unforgettable dessert wine.
Grape varieties: 100% Aleatico
Vineyard: owned, located in Amelia, Umbria, cultivated according to organic farming principles in respect of nature and its cycles
Age of vines: first planting 48 years, new planting with recovery of old clones 20 years
Yield per hectare: 40 quintals
Training system: spurred cordon
Soil: sandy-clayey with remains of marine fossils from the Pleistocene-Marine period
Exposure: east/southeast
Altitude: hilly 250/300 m
Harvest: by hand, after light withering on the plant
Vinification: destemming followed by 7 to 8 days of traditional maceration in contact with the skins. Temperature-controlled fermentation stopped at the right sugar content
Maturation: 12 months in steel and at least 6 in bottle
Tasting notes: deep red in color with purplish highlights, the nose is characterized by the intensity of aromatic notes reminiscent of ripe red fruits. In the mouth it impresses with its winy qualities, soft, enveloping and pleasantly sweet
Pairings: excellent dessert wine to enjoy with spicy shortbread or chocolate desserts; can also be paired with aged cheeses and pecorino cheese
